Linksaw helps you save, find, copy, paste, and share snippets, notes, and links. This policy explains what information Linksaw collects, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information Linksaw collects

Linksaw collects the information needed to provide the service:

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, Linksaw receives your Google account identifier, email address, display name, and profile image. Linksaw does not receive your Google password.
• Your content. Linksaw stores the snippet text, optional custom names, revisions, and other content you create or import so it can be synchronized across your devices.
• Sharing information. When you share a snippet, Linksaw stores a public share identifier and makes that snippet available to anyone who has its link until you unshare or delete it.
• Preferences and account activity. Linksaw stores settings needed to operate the product, such as preferences, authentication sessions, and the information necessary to keep clients synchronized.
• Technical information. Linksaw's hosting and authentication providers may process standard request information such as IP address, browser or device type, timestamps, and security logs when you use the service.

How Linksaw uses Google user data

Linksaw uses the Google account identifier, email address, display name, and profile image received through Google Sign-In only to authenticate you, create and identify your Linksaw account, display your account identity, and synchronize your Linksaw content across supported devices. Linksaw does not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive files, contacts, calendar, or Google password. Linksaw does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it for purposes unrelated to providing and securing Linksaw.

Clipboard and device access

Linksaw accesses the clipboard only when a feature you invoke needs it, such as copying, pasting, or expanding a clipboard marker. Clipboard contents are not added to your account unless you deliberately save them as snippet content. The browser extension may read the active page only as needed to insert a snippet into the field you are using.

How information is used

Linksaw uses this information to authenticate you; store, search, display, revise, import, export, and synchronize your snippets; copy or paste content at your request; create and manage public share links; remember your settings; protect accounts; diagnose failures; and maintain and improve the service.

Cookies and sessions

The Linksaw website uses a secure session cookie to keep you signed in. The Mac app and extension store authentication information locally so they can connect to your Linksaw account. Linksaw does not use this information for advertising.

How information is shared

Linksaw does not sell your personal information and does not use your snippet content for advertising. Information is shared only in these circumstances:

• With service providers that operate essential infrastructure, including Google for sign-in and Cloudflare for application hosting, data storage, delivery, and security.
• When you intentionally create a public share link. Anyone who receives that link can view the shared snippet, so do not share sensitive content publicly.
• When required to comply with law, protect the service or its users, or address fraud, abuse, or security threats.
• As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of the service, subject to appropriate protections and notice where required.

Data retention and deletion

Linksaw keeps account information and saved content while your account is active so the service can function. Revisions are retained to support undo and synchronization. You can delete individual snippets, remove public sharing, or permanently delete your account and associated snippets from Settings. Some limited records may be retained when required by law, for security, or in temporary backups until they expire.

Security

Linksaw uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect your information, including protected authentication tokens and access controls that separate users' private content. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Linksaw is not directed to children under 13, and Linksaw does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to Linksaw, please contact us.

Your choices

You can review and change your snippets and preferences, revoke a public share link, export supported data from the desktop web app, sign out, or delete your account. You may also contact us with questions or requests concerning your information.

Changes to this policy

Linksaw may update this policy as the product or its data practices change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
